There are many opportunities for you to serve at Night to Shine. Descriptions of each team are below. Our greatest need is for buddies to spend the night with our guests! Over 170 buddies are needed!
Our guests begin arriving at 4:30PM and will leave a little after 9PM. Many of the roles will require you to be there before our guests arrive. If you sign up for a role and can no longer make it it is very important you let us know!!

Activities Team – Derrick Cox Team Lead
Setup and participate in any additional activities including karaoke, with the guests. Encourage them and maintain a fun atmosphere.
Responsible for set up and management of Karaoke area. Assist with directing DJ and Karaoke vendors to the correct areas.
DANCE FLOOR TEAM
The dance floor will be the most popular spot throughout the night. Your goal is to keep the party going on the dance floor. This team is on the lookout for wall flowers and encourages guests to hit the dance floor and engage in conversation. You’ll also assist in passing out crowns and tiaras at 7 PM to the buddies for each guest.
Assists guests getting in and out of limos. Some volunteers will ride with guests in limos to provide a safe environment while riding.
Buddy Team – Shelly Parey Team Lead
Over 160 buddies are needed! Every attendee will be assigned a buddy for the evening. Buddies hang out with guests, make conversation while enjoying dancing, food, and karaoke alongside guests. Buddies are to assist guests for the evening while encouraging guests to participate in the fun.
Caregiver Team – Dan Woodell Team Lead
Caregivers will be treated to a brief respite as they head to a relaxing space that includes food, support and prayer.
Decoration Team – Mark Landis Team Lead
You’ll help transform the Event Center into a memorable prom venue. These finishing touches really can make the night. This team plans and executes any decorating needs for the evening including the dance space, karaoke room, respite rooms, and more.
Facilities Management Team – Jason Parey Team Lead
PARKING LOT TEAM
This critical team directs guests from the moment they pull into the parking lot. They will also assist guests in getting in and out of their cars, as well as valet for caregivers, and help them find the registration area.
Assist the decoration team the night before the prom to transform the Event Center in an unforgettable place. Teardown both facilities at the end of the night or the next morning, setup chairs in sanctuary for service on Sunday.
WASTE MANAGEMENT TEAM
Ensure all trash is picked up and all trashcans have been emptied. Ensure all bathrooms have sufficient paper towels and toilet paper is available.
Food Services Team – Julie Baker, Matt Hodgen, & Elizabeth Nelson Team Leads
FOOD PREP TEAM
Assist caterer with unloading food, additional food preparation and set-up food and beverages at the Prom, in the Event Center and in the chaperone space
PROM/CAREGIVER SERVING TEAMS
Serve food to guests in main event space and chaperone (parents, caretakers or family members) space. Be knowledgeable about the items and assist guests in finding what they would like (Especially if they have dietary restrictions or allergies) and refill food warmers, drinks and snacks.
Personal Care Team – Shelly Parey Team Lead
PERSONAL CARE ROOM
Help guests with cleanup needs that cannot be taken care of in a restroom. Needs to be a professional nurse.
A professional nurse to manage and administer medications to guests.
Floating/Restroom Team – Erik Janeczko Team Lead
Help guests find the restrooms and offer assistance in the restroom/changing area as needed.
Help fill in gaps throughout the night. May be reassigned to another team if other teams are short.
Photography Team – Jim Pond Team Lead
Give our guests the red carpet treatment as they’re met with a mob of photographers as they enter Night to Shine, as they dance, and as they pose in front of a backdrop. The main goal is to take photographs and treat participants like honored guests and celebrities. All photos must be submitted to the Tim Tebow Foundation the evening of the event. You must provide your own camera with a flash. Videographers will capture all aspects of our event.
SOCIAL MEDIA PHOTOGRAPHER
Take photographs with smart phones and text high quality photos and short videos to the Tim Tebow Foundation’s marketing team during the event. Follow the same content guidelines as the professional photography team. For best quality, please shoot videos horizontally.
Take professional quality photographs with Tim Tebow background. Photos will be given to guests in gift takeaways at the end of the night.
PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER’S ASSISTANT
Assist professional photographers with posing guests and assigning guest photo numbers for gift takeaway. Assist professional photographers with printing guest pictures.
Publicity Team – Kim Stockstill Team Lead
PRE-EVENT PUBLICITY TEAM
This team helps ensure the community is aware of the event. They will place flyers at various schools and community areas. They will plan and construct press releases to be sent out at various times prior to the event and coordinate media coverage for the event.
THANK YOU TEAM
This team will handle post prom Thank You’s to the community and sponsors either through social media, newspaper, or radio ads. They will also handle the ordering of appreciation plaques and distribution to our sponsors.
Security & Medical Team –David Boyd Team Lead
As part of the Security team, your job will be to serve as security personnel during the event. This team will walk around and monitor all venues, while making sure exits are not blocked and all areas remain wheel chair accessible.
Assist by providing basic first aid and care for any medical needs or emergencies. You’ll also be available to direct guests to EMT’s or report disturbances.
Specialty Services Team – Lydia Mietzner Team Lead
HAIR/MAKE UP/NAILS TEAM
This team helps with hair/make up pre-prom, and offers touch ups at prom to make sure guests look their best as they make their trip down the red carpet and are photographed by the paparazzi.
SHOE SHINE TEAM
Give our guests the royal treatment with a shoe shine while engaging guests in conversation. This team will help set up and tear down the shoe shine station.
Assist florist with unloading and properly laying out. Help guests select and put on their flower.
Sound & Video Team – Jason Yoder
This team will run sound, lights, video, and microphones in the Event Center and Main building. They will also be responsible for providing/managing leader communication devices during the event.
Welcome Team – Katrina Dudenhoeffer & Monica Carr Team Leads
Welcome guests as they arrive, and help them find their way to the main event space, activities, and restrooms.
GUEST / BUDDY/ VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN TEAM
Warmly greet guests and volunteers and sign them in. They’ll also be available to answer any questions. Greet volunteers, give them their name badges and direct them to their team leader. Greet buddies, give them their name badges and direct them to their team leader for a pre-event meeting.
RED CARPET TEAM
Assist guests as they make their way down the red carpet, manage flow of traffic and cheer them on to make them feel welcomed.
COAT CHECK TEAM
Greet our guests with a friendly face and organize guest’s coats. As guests leave, ask for their names and retrieve their coats.
GIFT TAKEAWAY/CROWN/TIARA TEAM
Manage gifts and help each guest select one to take home. Display and distribute crowns and tiaras for every guest to their buddy at 7PM because every guest is a king or queen.
Assist guests in a quiet room to calm down from overstimulation.
